Privacy

Your cellar, your data.

Cask is a private wine cellar. The bottles you log, the ratings you give, the photos and notes you attach: those belong to you, not us.

What stays in your account

Your bottles, ratings, notes, audio recordings, photos, collection history, and recommendations all live in your account. We don't sell them, share them with marketers, or use them to train models outside your own recommender.

Who else sees what

We use third-party services for the boring parts of running a web app: hosting, email delivery, image and audio storage, and AI inference for reading wine labels and transcribing voice notes. Those vendors see only what they need to do their job. Your inventory as a whole stays scoped to your account.

Deleting your data

If you delete your account, your data goes with you. Bottles, ratings, audio, photos, CSV uploads, history, everything. Account settings → Delete account.

What's coming

A full vendor list, the data-flow diagram, and the version-controlled changelog of this policy. Until that's published, the short answer above is the working policy.
